Safety is Good Business

Our Top Priority

From Start to Finish

Completing each job is important. Completing it safely is critical. If a job isn’t safe for our team, we stop and reassess, only moving forward when we have a clear, sound, and manageable plan. At NGS Contracting, we believe that creating a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace is good for business. Well-planned work, qualified employees, and well-maintained equipment are vital to maintaining our safety standards.

Our Commitment to Action

Investing In Safety

We commit to safety by regularly investing in training and equipment and continuously improving our processes.

NGS Contracting is COR certified (WorkSafeBC) and SAFE certified (BC Forest Safety Council).

Some of the tools we use every day include:

  • Employee Safety Orientation, certification, job-specific training, and ongoing instruction
  • Identifying the strengths of each team member and utilizing them to complete each job safely
  • A rigorous process of hazard identification, assessment, and control for every job
  • Identifying the risks and determining how to mitigate them in a way that will align with our risk threshold
  • Scheduled and documented multi-level safety reviews
  • Regular, documented workplace and equipment inspections
  • Safe Work Practices (SWP) have been created and communicated for all our activities. NGS is constantly reassessing work methods to find the current best practice, bringing consistent revisions of our SWPs and training to our crew.

Individual Responsibility

Each crew member is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace for themselves, their co-workers, sub-contractors, customers, and the general public.

Our employees must learn and follow safe work procedures and are protected under the BC Workers Compensation Act: Right to Know, Right to Participate, and Right to Refuse.
