Industry Leaders in Vegetation Maintenance
What We Do
Expert Tree Care since 2001
Our many years of experience and access to resources set us apart in the industry. A focus on efficiency, safety, and pre-job planning means our teams can complete any project regardless of scope or location.
Utility Vegetation Maintenance
Vegetation management on transmission and distribution primary lines is the core of our business.
Ensuring proper vegetation clearance on transmission and distribution lines is crucial for safe and dependable power.
NGS is a valuable partner in efficient and effective vegetation management programs that meet the reliability standards enforced by the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC).
Our line clearance capabilities include:
- Pruning and removal on distribution and transmission circuits
- Manual or excavator-operated brush cutter right of way clearing for utility services
- Rail-mounted aerial lift trucks, chippers, and brush cutters
- Emergency storm service
- Identification of hazard vegetation on right of ways, rail lines, and residential areas
Hazard Tree Removal
Dead or declining trees are a liability to utility companies, municipalities, and property. Using mechanical and manual tactics, NGS removes dangerous trees safely and effectively while ensuring all parties are satisfied and secure.
Emergency and Storm Response/Clean Up
We are prepared to respond safely and efficiently to assist in vegetation clean-up during or after a storm. We work with utility line crews to aid in prompt service restoration.
Municipal Tree Removal and Maintenance
Removing dead or hazard trees, maintaining vegetation clearance around utility and private service lines, and expertly pruning trees in public areas are all key to creating a healthy urban forest.
Wildfire Cleanup
Proper clean-up of dead or dying vegetation after a wildfire requires careful planning and execution to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
NGS crew members are trained in Wildland Fire Safety hazard identification. They are certified BC Fallers and hold BC Fallers Endorsement qualifications. Our equipment and resources are prepared to remove identified hazards in a controlled, skilled, and safe way.
Our Approach
The NGS Contracting Advantage
NGS Contracting has a reputation for consistently delivering high-quality work that exceeds our clients’ standards.
This is thanks to our Quality Management System (QMS), the proprietary framework that guides our projects and helps us deliver excellent work. Our QMS includes tools and processes that apply to every project, employee, and partner.
Our team members are the driving force in ensuring that QMS is implemented across all of our projects.
- Every project starts with the Senior Project Manager (SPM).
- The SPM works with the client on a Requirements Definition and Project Scope document, accounting for the client’s needs, our team’s capacity and all external regulatory requirements.
- The SPM works with the NGS Environmental Coordinator, Safety Coordinator, and Quality Coordinator.
- Together, they ensure that the Project Plan is complete and communicated to NGS Field Managers, Field Workers, and all sub-contractors.
